The B&B is located on the main square in the old
quarter of Anguillara, just inside the ancient town gate and walls,
in an attractive old building with a view of the lake. The entrance
is on the part of the square where there is the “Fountain of the
Eels”. The view is spectacular.
The lakeside is just a short walk away. There are various
characteristic cafés, small
restaurants and little shops nearby and some of them give discounts
to our guests. Our Italian-style breakfast uses
only
characteristic, local, fresh and natural products. In the summer it
can be taken on the terrace, with its panoramic
view, while in the winter it is served inside. The rooms are
spacious, airy and comfortable, with a
touch of
originality.
The bathrooms are in common and for the exclusive use
of our guests.
You will also find various literature to help you get
to know the area better and find
out what’s going on and when, together with information
about public transport and organised tours, including to Rome and to
the many archaeological sites. We can help you to book and we can
provide advice … remember, we live here!
The rooms
There are three rooms: the “Columns Room” (can sleep up to four
people) and the “Clock Room” (a double room), both of which face
onto Piazza del Municipio (with the town hall opposite) and the “Art
Room”, with access to the terrace and the possibility of enjoying
some unforgettable sunsets…

Anguillara and its surroundings
Anguillara is located in an area called “Tuscia”, which is
incredibly rich in places of historical,
archaeological or natural interest. In a radius of just a few
kilometres there is an almost unique concentration of history and
natural beauty, from the Neolithic village submerged by the Lake to
the Etruscan necropolis in Cerveteri, the castles in Bracciano and
Santa Severa and the many Mediaeval town centres. The area is
studded with ruins from Roman times, while evocative and mysterious
abandoned villages offer the cue for something rather different in
the midst of a luxuriant nature made up principally of woodland,
with a network of paths where one can walk, horse ride or go
mountain biking. There are lots of signposted footpaths inside the
protected area, which also includes the nearby Lake Martignano,
a small unspoilt stretch of water accessible only on foot. Well
worth a visit and only half an hour’s drive away is the “Caldara”, a
natural phenomenon and evidence of the previous volcanic
characteristics of the entire area, with its surreal landscape and
bubbling cold water pools. The Lake moreover offers many
opportunities to practise water sports, including sailing, canoeing
and windsurf, including during the winter, and then, when the
weather gets hot, the many beaches provide relaxation and enjoyment
for families too. And, for aviation fans, it is possible to visit
the Italian Air Force Museum, which is only four kilometres away.
There are frequent merry festivals and entertainment in Anguillara
and the surrounding area and these represent an opportunity to get
to know local traditions and, in particular, taste genuine
gastronomic products, such as fish, broccoli and the typical Latium
Maremma dish, the “Acquacotta” soup.
